….Declares end to disrespectful rhetoric
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said his recent alignment with a new political platform is driven by a commitment to place the “Kano Agenda” above personal, political, or group interests.
The governor made this known during a Motorcycle Empowerment Programme for social media influencers drawn from the state’s 44 local government areas, held at the Government House in Kano on Saturday.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Mr Yusuf said his political decisions were guided solely by the need to ensure sustainable development and improved welfare for residents of the state.
“To those of us who have defected from the NNPP, the allies we are joining, and even those who feel we have abandoned them, let us work together for the sustainable development of our state,” the governor was quoted as saying.
Mr Yusuf said he harboured no resentment towards any individual or group, stressing that his focus remains the development of Kano State and the well-being of its people.

He also declared an end to what he described as an era of disrespectful statements against leaders and elders, noting that his administration would no longer tolerate insults or divisive rhetoric.
According to him, his government would instead promote unity, mutual respect and economic prosperity across the state.
The governor noted that recent political and economic collaborations were already yielding positive results, citing improved cooperation between the state government and the Nigeria Police Force in efforts to curb crime.
Commenting on the 2027 general elections, Mr Yusuf dismissed early political speculations, saying leadership ultimately rests in God’s hands.
“People have already started discussing who will be the governor of Kano State in 2027. To me, only God decides,” he said, adding that he would remain focused on delivering developmental projects.
He also assured that he would accept whoever emerges as Kano’s leader in the future.
The governor further urged social media influencers to use their platforms responsibly by projecting values of unity, humility and peace, which he said are central to Islamic teachings.
