Tinubu names new NEMSA CEO, reconstitutes board

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adesayo Michael as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), alongside the appointment of new board members.

The President also named nine other members to the NEMSA board, including Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director, Technical, and Ikechi Nwosu as Chairman, representing the South East.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement titled “President Tinubu appoints CEO and board members of NEMSA; Magaji Da’u Aliyu as MD of SHESTCO.”

According to Onanuga, other board members appointed include “Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris (Member); Igba Elizabeth (Member-North Central); Sani Alhaji Shehu (Member–North East); Adeyemi Adetunji (Member–South West); Engr Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (Member–South South) and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South East).”

NEMSA is the regulatory agency responsible for standardising, testing, and certifying electrical materials and equipment in Nigeria.

The President also appointed Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) in Abuja.

SHESTCO is responsible for conducting research and development in technology and operating a nuclear research facility.

Additionally, Tinubu nominated Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna, as Commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

“The President has sent the two nominees to the Senate for confirmation,” the statement read.
