NAF airstrikes flatten bandit hideout in Kaduna

A precision operation by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has eliminated a major bandit enclave in Kunti, Sohon Gaya community, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The operation, which followed credible intelligence on heightened bandit activities in the axis, targeted criminals reportedly armed with assault rifles and other high-calibre weapons.

According to sources, at about 12:00hrs, two NAF helicopters carried out the decisive strike, hitting the location that had long served as a base of terror against surrounding communities.

Shortly after the bombardment, ground troops in Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) stormed the area to secure the site, conduct battle damage assessment, and pursue fleeing bandits.

The coordinated air and ground operation was described as timely and effective, neutralising the threats and restoring confidence among residents of Sohon Gaya and neighbouring communities.
