NAICOM, FinTech group partner on digital Insurance

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has announced a partnership with the FinTech Association of Nigeria to accelerate the adoption of technology in the nation’s insurance industry.

Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, disclosed this during a meeting with the association, where both parties explored strategies to strengthen the sector through digital innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships.

Omosehin reaffirmed NAICOM’s commitment to modernizing operations and protecting policyholders’ interests, noting that digital adoption is critical to restoring public trust in insurance.

“The insurance industry must embrace technology to remain competitive and relevant in today’s economy,” the Commissioner said, pledging to place the sector at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

Leading the FinTech Association delegation, Mr. Segun Aina, President of the Africa FinTech Network, expressed the group’s readiness to support NAICOM’s modernization drive.

Both parties agreed to maintain continuous engagement to ensure that the Commission’s reform objectives under the new administration are achieved.
