According to statement from the OAGF, his election was confirmed at the Association’s Annual General Meeting, held on July 28, 2025, in Accra, Ghana, with attendance from Accountants General representing various member states.
The AAAG, a Pan-African platform comprising the Offices of Accountants General from 22 countries, was established in July 2023 under the auspices of the African Union Commission.
It is tasked with promoting leadership and excellence in public financial management (PFM) through robust accounting practices and transparent reporting.
Nigeria’s emergence in the Association’s leadership ranks is seen as a recognition of the country’s strides in fiscal management and its active role in shaping the continent’s financial governance landscape.
As Deputy Chairperson, Ogunjimi is expected to support the AAAG’s drive to improve accountability and transparency in public sector finance across Africa.

He will also play a key role in championing reforms, strengthening public sector accounting, and enhancing collaboration among member nations.
With this new position, Nigeria is poised to contribute more significantly to the development of innovative and harmonized financial management systems across the continent.
