Dantata, aged 94, passed away in the early hours of Saturday.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said Nigeria has lost a prominent patriot whose legacy of service and philanthropy will endure.

The President described the late Dantata as a man of great industry, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s unity.

“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation,” the President stated.

He noted Dantata’s lifelong dedication to business excellence and national development through various ventures and humanitarian gestures.

President Tinubu recalled his personal relationship with the deceased, saying his wise counsel and moral support were both encouraging and beneficial over the years.
He praised Dantata’s contributions in public service, especially as Commissioner for Planning and Development in the old Kano State.

The President also commended his impact in education and healthcare through sustained philanthropic efforts that touched countless lives across Nigeria.

President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, the Government and people of Kano State, and all Nigerians mourning the loss of the revered elder.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata was one of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s business history and a respected symbol of integrity and service to the nation.

“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation.
“Alhaji Dantata will be remembered for his industry, diligence, steadfastness, and great commitment to national unity through his many business ventures and philanthropic activities that touched countless lives of Nigerians.

“His public-spirited philanthropy was notable, especially in the areas of education and healthcare delivery.

“The wise counsel and support of Alhaji Dantata over the years were deeply encouraging and beneficial,” the statement read in part.
