The victim, who had just completed his Higher National Diploma (HND) from Kano Polytechnic, was working as a lift operator at Northwest University before the tragic incident.
Eyewitnesses say the attackers stabbed the young man after forcibly taking his phone. He later died from the injuries sustained. The crime, which occurred in broad daylight at Sheka area, has once again exposed the growing insecurity in the city.
Residents are gripped by fear, with many accusing the authorities of turning a blind eye to the escalating menace.

“We hear, we see, but nothing is done. These criminals have turned human life into nothing,” said one angry resident, Mallam Sule Mai Samiru.
As phone snatchers continue to operate unchecked, the call for urgent action from law enforcement grows louder.
