The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has hosted a high-level delegation from the Council of Bureaux of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening collaboration across the regional insurance ecosystem.

The engagement brought together key stakeholders focused on improving the efficiency and reliability of cross-border motor insurance within West Africa.

Discussions centred on enhancing cooperation and aligning operational priorities to address existing gaps in the system.

NAICOM said the collaboration is aimed at building a more seamless insurance framework that supports the free movement of goods and people, while reducing friction in cross-border travel.

By deepening partnerships with the Council of Bureaux, the commission is positioning the insurance sector to better serve regional trade and mobility, in line with broader economic integration goals across the ECOWAS sub-region.
