Waziri greets Muslims, calls for spiritual reflection on Eid al-Adha

As Muslims across Nigeria mark the sacred occasion of Eid al-Adha, Waziri Danbatta, Alhaji Mustapha Shehu, has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah, particularly Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Emir of Kano, people of Danbatta Local Government and Kano State.

In his Sallah message, Waziri Danbatta congratulated Nigerian Muslims on the successful completion of the Arafat rites and Eid prayers, urging them to use the festive period as a time for deep spiritual reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to national peace and harmony.

Highlighting the spiritual essence of the Eid al-Adha celebration, Alhaji Mustapha reminded the affluent members of society of the significance of the ritual sacrifice of animals as a symbol of obedience to Allah and compassion toward fellow humans.

He emphasized that beyond the ceremonial slaughter, the act represents an opportunity to share blessings with less privileged families and to rekindle the virtues of generosity, empathy, and social responsibility.

“This sacred occasion reminds us of the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim and the importance of sacrifice in our faith, Islam. I urge wealthy individuals to remember the poor and ensure that no family is left behind in the joy and blessings of Sallah,” he stated.

Waziri Danbatta also offered special prayers for the successful completion of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, asking Allah (SWT) to grant the pilgrims accepted acts of worship and safe return to Nigeria.

Further, he encouraged all Muslims to embody the values of humility, selflessness, and unity as taught during Eid, stressing that the true essence of the celebration lies in how well its lessons are practiced beyond the festive season.

“May Allah bless Nigeria with enduring peace, guide our leaders, and continue to protect our pilgrims and citizens both at home and abroad,” he prayed.
