Speaking on Monday ahead of the event holding on Saturday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., said 24 students earned First-Class Honours, 79 attained Second-Class Upper Division, while 77 graduated with Second-Class Lower Division.
He added that the University has recorded significant progress since its establishment in 2018, expanding from two faculties to five, with alll programmes now fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
“This event marks another remarkable millstone in our journey of eight years of academic excellence, innovation, and transformation,” Prof. Kumar stated. “Since its establishment in 2018, Skyline University Nigeria has remained a beacon of quality education, enriching minds, igniting innovation, and shaping the future of young Nigerians.”
Kumar also praised Kano State Government’s insatiable support and cooperation towards the successful operation of the university in the State.
He subsequently announced the establishment of an AI Innovation Lab and HP Gaming Garage, aimed at promoting practical entrepreneurship and digital creativity among students.
“Entrepreneurship remains a cornerstone of our academic philosophy,” he said. “Through our Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, we have established the HP Gaming Garage and AI Innovation Lab to enable students to develop business ideas, innovative solutions, and startups that address real-world challenges.”

Kumar noted the addition of new schools making a total of five — the School of Science and Information Technology (SSIT), School of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), School of Legal Studies (SLS), School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), and the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) — offering undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes across various disciplines.
He added that the NUC had approved seven new part-time undergraduate programmes, including International Relations, Economics, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Mass Communication, and Computer Science and Information Systems.
“These programmes are designed to provide flexible learning opportunities for professionals who wish to advance their education while balancing work, family, and personal growth,” Prof. Kumar disclosed.
Highlighting the institution’s growing global partnership, Prof. Kumar said that SUN recently signed new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Keele University in the United Kingdom and Sheridan College in Canada to promote student exchange and academic partnerships.
“These partnerships reaffirm our commitment to global learning and internationalization, ensuring our students gain the cross-cultural exposure needed for global relevance,” he said.
He expressed pride in some students who represented the university in the Top Speech and Table Topics Contest.
“Our students’ success stories are testimonies to the quality of our academic training and the holistic education we provide,” he noted.
The Vice-chancellor expressed appreciation to parents, the founder and chairman, Mr. Kamal Puri, the Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Nitin Anand, and the Chancellor for their leadership and support.
“Their collective vision continues to be the cornerstone of our institution’s achievements,” he said. “As we celebrate this convocation, we reaffirm our commitment to quality education, technological innovation, and social transformation nurturing graduates who will create opportunities and lead change in their communities and beyond.”
