The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has debunked reports suggesting that the ongoing upgrade of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) software will delay the payment of October salaries to federal workers.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press, Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF described the reports circulating on social media as misleading and urged treasury and IPPIS staff to disregard them.
The office explained that the IPPIS previously operated three payroll platforms, and in 2024, one of them was successfully migrated to the “SoftSuite” application, leaving two active platforms — EBS and SoftSuite.
According to the statement, the Federal Government has now decided to consolidate all payroll activities under the SoftSuite platform due to the suboptimal performance of EBS.
The move, the OAGF clarified, is a continuation of an earlier reform initiative aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy in payroll administration.

“The integration of all payroll processes into a single platform has been carefully managed, and while minor issues may arise during the transition, all observed errors and omissions are being addressed promptly,” the statement noted.
The OAGF assured that there would be no disruption to October salary payments, adding that “October salaries remain intact and will be paid as scheduled.”
It further advised members of the public and stakeholders to rely solely on official communications from the OAGF for verified information.
