
The Central Bank Governor, Mr Olayemi Cardoso, will lead a Nigeria’s team to represent the Finance Minister Mr. Wale Edun at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting in Washington DC, which opens on Monday, October 13.…
Cardoso will replace the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun due to the minister’s ill health, a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, read Sunday.
“Cardoso, as the alternate Governor, replaces the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, who is indisposed,” Onanuga stated.
He said the Nigerian team will also comprise the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anete.

Quoting the World Bank, the statement said key elements of the Annual Meetings include the Development Committee Plenary session on October 16 and the International Monetary and Financial Committee meetings on October 17.
