AZAWON mourns Kano philanthropist, Aminu Dantata
The Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators of Nigeria (AZAWON) has mourned the passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing him as a philanthropist and peacemaker.
According to statement on Monday signed by AZAWON’s National Chairman, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, said: “Alhaji Dantata’s charitable contributions and dedication to human development left an indelible mark on Nigeria, particularly through his generous support and donations in the society.”

Malam Maidoki added that, “Alhaji Dantata’s lifelong commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, promoting peace, and advancing education, healthcare, and community development set a benchmark for philanthropy in Nigeria.”
Further, the AZAWON Chairman noted that Alhaji Dantata’s humanitarian legacy will continue to inspire charitable interventions, social protection initiatives, and poverty eradication efforts across the nation.
While praying Allah to repose the soul of Alhaji Dantata Aljannah Firdaus, AZAWON expressed condolences to his family, the Government, and the people of Kano State.
